My husband Andrew and I are currently residing in small town Virginia, where we are rasing our two children; Kadence age 3, and Elliot age 1. I am in the fine dining and wine business and enjoy both. My husband has a taste for Good Ole Southern Cookin, and is a meat and potatoes kind of man. I like to mix my gourmet tastes with his southern flare and see what I can come up with.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially if the kids can get involved. I also like trying new recipes out on my husband. Cooking is always enjoyable for me as long as it is creative and not rushed.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Oh, we cracked crabs every Christmas Eve. We made orange poppy seed muffins and peanut butter balls every Christmas morning. I think it's fair to say that cooking and eating traditions were the glue that held us together.
My cooking triumphs
Well, recently I would have to say an immaculate pinaple upside down cake. And my daughters Princess birthday doll cake.
My cooking tragedies
I hate baking in a hurry. If I am in a rush to get something prepared, the results are usually tragic. I recently destroyed a bunt cake by removing it from the pan before it was cooled, and it ended up in two pieces.
