Hi there! My name is Stina. I am a college student right now, but I'm seriously considering becoming a pastry chef, so that could change relatively soon. I love sewing, reading and snuggling in to watch great movies... while snacking on some yummy treats. I've been seeing my boyfriend for a bit over three years now and I have a feeling he'll be popping the question sometime soon. :) Other than that there's not much to tell. Well, as you can see from the pastry chef thing, I LOVE baking. Especially cakes and pies. I've also been a vegetarian for over a year and a half and was vegan at one point, so that has really motivated me to get to work on meat free meals other than baking. If you'll notice from the recipes I post (If I ever get to put them up), I keep with the Italian way of cooking and don't really pay too close attention to measurements and exact quantities. For me and those who cook like that, they're more guidelines than anything else. I started baking with my mom mom when I was little. In the end of November, she starts taking time off work to bake huge batches of cookies for everyone in our family as part of their Christmas present. More recently she's started doing it year round for showers and parties so I love going over her house and learning the family recipes. Although I don't like it when she reprimands me for sneaking pieces of chocolate. Haha! When I finally realized that things don't nake themselves. I used to make up a cake or something, stick it in the oven and then pout when after the cook time was up, it still wasn't cooked. Then I figured out that the oven has to actually be ON for something to bake. That was a long time ago, so we can forget that ever happened. :) Well. I can't say I have too many. I do have a funny story though. My uncle just got married and my parents and I went to their new house so they could cook us dinner to repay my mom because always winds up doing it for them. They went to the Italian market and picked up all this great stuff and when it came time to get the water boiling and the garlic bread cooking, my new aunt turned to my mom and said, "Michele... how do you preheat the oven?" Needless to say, guess who wound up cooking as usual.
