My favorite things to cook
My mom started me making tuna noodle casserole for my family when I was probably 10 years old. To this day, it is my favorite food...no matter how fattening it is! I love to try new recipies! I especially like ones with ingredients that I am not so sure about. It makes the cooking like an adventure. I have found more foods that I love that way! I am also very fond of learning new French and Polish recipies from my friend Anna. Her quiche with onions zucchini and bacon is FABULOUS! I am really big on veggies and healthy foods as my husband is diabetic.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making Mrs. Kethe's butter cookies at Christmas. This is a family tradition that I have been doing my entire life, first with my mom and my sister and brothers and now at home for my family. I introduced them to my husband's side of the family and now I can't even show up for Christmas without them!
My cooking triumphs
Almost all of my family members have told me at least once that my cooking tastes like my Grandma's (especially my beef stroganoff). To me, this is the highest compliment I could ever recieve.
My cooking tragedies
My husband and I had just gotten married and we bought this great new cookware...you don't need any oil or butter to cook in it, just a few tablespoons of water. I didn't read all the instructions though because corn on the cob needs much more water. I completely torched the corn on the cob! I cried for an hour until my hubby convinced me that I am still a good wife!
