I am married with a new baby boy and a step-son. I love to make desserts most but enjoy baking pretty much anything else. cooking with the kids If I make something new and someone compliments me on it the dish then I consider that to be a triumph. A co-worker asked me to make her a Red Velvet Cake and she was going to pay me for it. I had never made one before but I was up to the challenge. After the cake had baked, it didn't rise like it was supposed to. I finally realized that I had mixed up baking soda and baking powder. I redid it the next day and it ended up turning out really good. So basically all of my cooking tragedies are because of not following the directions closely enough.
