Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
We made these for our Christmas Gift Trays. My 9 yr son made the caramel..it turned out perfect! These are so easy to make, and taste so good! Plus, the squares look great, and look like they took quite a while to make. We put the squares in Christmas cupcake liners and topped with Christmas Tree topped toothpicks. These are now on our yearly Christmas goody list:) Thanks for sharing!

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
OMG! These are awesome pork chops! I'm normally not a pork chop person, but I ran across this recipe, and just had to try it. I'm so glad I did! I did add onion & garlic powders. I also added a bit of milk to the soup, making it easier to spread on top of the chops. My daughter, who normally doesn't like gravy on her meat, had two helpings! I'll definitely be making again. Thanks for sharing!

Chocolate-Covered OREO Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
What a great cake! Being it's Christmas time, we used the candy cane oreos for the filling. We used store bought chocolate icing, and I piped a snowflake on top. Then we sprinkled some gorgeous silvery white and red sprinkles. This made a very attractive cake. To top it all off, everyone raved how good the cake was...made my day! Thanks so much for sharing:)

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I made this to take to our Thanksgiving family dinner...it was a hit! I served in a small glass pumpkin, surrounded by Pumpkin Bread IV off this site. Great presentation! I mis-read the recipe and only purchased 1 (8 oz) container of coolwhip. It still tasted great:) Thanks for sharing!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
At first I thought I had done something wrong. I took a look at other reviews, and added more milk. My kids had such fun decorating their Thanksgiving cookies! For the acorns, we tinted some of the icing brown, and some gray. For the pumpkins we did orange, and the leaves we did red, yellow and orange. The icing was easy to work with and made the cookies look great! Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
These enchiladas were fantastic! I changed it up a bit to suite our taste. I omitted the margarine,(would've used olive oil, had I sauteed the onions) and onions. I used turkey rather than chicken. I added taco seasoning to the sour cream/soup mixture, as well as to the turkey. I used corn tortillas, rather than flour. I layered the ingredients, rather than mix them together. I also added black beans (my kids love beans:) I topped enchiladas with sour cream/soup mixture, cheese & enchilada sauce. My whole family loved this dish! Thanks for sharing.

Double Cheesy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I made these to go with our Sunday dinner. They were so good! I was cooking a few other things, so I put these in the crockpot. I layered the potatoes, along with thinly sliced onion, and minced garlic, sea salt & pepper. I topped with heavy cream and parmesan cheese. Once the potatoes were done, I topped with cheddar cheese. I was going to take a picture, but they were gone before I could:) I will certainly be making again. Thanks for sharing!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
These noodles were perfect! I've tried to make noodles before, but they didn't turn out quite like I wanted. I cooked noodles in turkey broth, and added frozen veggies..mmm good! The noodles are great as is, but next time, just for kicks, I plan to add basil & garlic. Thanks for sharing!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
We deemed this "Daddy/Hubby Appreciation Day". We chose this recipe to go along with our Beef Stew. I've tried many different french breads, but haven't found the desired dense bread we enjoy. That is until now! My husband kept telling me how much he loved the bread! This would also make a wonderful sub sandwich bread. I'll certainly make again. Thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
We deemed this "Daddy/Hubby Appreciation Day". We chose this recipe for the main course. Everyone loved it...especially my husband! We had smoked some beef, which I cubed and used for the stew meat. I added more worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. I also added a bit of dry sherry, 1 package onion soup mix, and replaced the bay leaf with dried sweet basil. You know when your kids are saying MMMM during the whole meal, you've hit a gold mine! Thanks for sharing!

Shrimp Egg Foo Yung

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I made this recipe, upon my husbands request. Our family of 5 loved it! I omitted the bean sprouts(didn't have any)and the salt from both the eggs and sauce. I used ham rather than shrimp, only because I'm prego and can't have 'em. If mamma can't have 'em, nobody can have 'em!! I did add just a bit more soy sauce to gravy, as well as a bit more cornstarch. I used olive oil rather than vegetable oil. Served over rice and had the perfect meal! I'll certainly be making again. Thanks for sharing!

Chili Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I had every intention of grilling tonight, but my day got away from me, so I ended up cooking the chicken in the oven. I used boneless chicken breasts. At first my kids weren't too excited about the chicken having sauce on top. Once they tried it, they kept telling me how awesome the chicken was! Next time, I'll be certain to grill the chicken. Thanks for sharing!

Jay's Hearty Breakfast Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This is a great dish! I needed a quick meal for dinner, and came across this one...it was a hit! My husband bought me a cool chopper/dicer, which I used on the potatoes. I cooked the potatoes in olive oil, rather than boil them. When the potatoes were half way done, I added the peppers and onions(I omitted mushrooms, due to picky kiddos). Once the potatoes were done, I took them out of the pan, so I could scramble the eggs. I seasoned the eggs with garlic powder, sea salt & pepper. Once the eggs were done, I added the potato mixture to the eggs. I cooked just a bit longer. I topped with shredded cheddar cheese. I also substituted ham for the bacon. Any type of breakfast meat would be great in this dish. Next time, I plan to add fresh roasted green chile. Thanks for sharing!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
These were Awesome! I've wanted to make these for some time, and finally had the time yesterday. I did add just a bit of garlic powder and sea salt to the cream cheese. These were so good, I think they'd be fantastic as written. My husband and I couldn't stop eating these...very addictive! If you'll soak the toothpicks in water for a few minutes, they won't burn when grilling. Thanks for sharing.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
This recipe was wonderful! I did make a few changes to our liking...I used 2 cups regular flour & 1 cup whole wheat flour, turbinado sugar & canola oil. I mixed the dough in my bread machine, then shaped into rolls.(I've just about worn my bread machine out-the bake cycle no longer works:) The rolls rose beautifully and tasted like heaven! My family couldn't get enough of the bread. This recipe is definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing.

Breakfast Sausage Roll

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
I made this for breakfast yesterday. I sauteed green peppers, onion, mushrooms, garlic and fresh roasted green chiles. I then scrambled eggs. I layered the eggs, veggies and cheese. I also made my own bread. Very good! If I were to make as directed, I would add pizza sauce, as other reviewers suggested. Thanks for sharing!
