I am a writer of drama novels for adults and fantasy novels for teens. I really want to be a novelist, but for now, I am aiming to be an elementary school teacher. Our family dog is a sweetie pie named Dodger, who is a Border collie/German shepherd/Malamute/Husky mix. He is our spoiled baby and we enjoy spoiling him! Well, I'm just trying to start my life and I have the best family to help me.
My favorite things to cook
I love making things that are warm and comforting during the cold months. The main things are quick breads (nuts, berries, chocolate, cinnamon, etc.) and cider. Aside from those two favorites, I enjoy making casseroles, old-fashioned recipes, and chocolatey desserts!
My favorite family cooking traditions
These are the main traditions:
Christmas/Thanksgiving: Turkey, stuffing, ambrosia, green beans & bacon, Martinelli's sparkling cider, and peppery mashed potatoes with butter.
My cooking triumphs
It seems that at every social gathering, whatever I bring tends to amaze people. I don't try to do that, either; it just happens that way!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 11 or 12, I was baking something and preheated the oven....without looking inside to see if there were dishes on the racks. I super-heated one of my mom's glass baking pans and pulled it out, placing it carefully into the cold metal sink. CRACK! The dish busted down the middle. To this day, I've ALWAYS checked inside the oven before preheating it!
