About this Cook
I'm a librarian in a small-medium size library in Central New York. I love to read and I do a lot of hiking with my basset, Lucy.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking Italian dishes first and foremost, but I also like to make crock pot meals. The ingredients I cook with the most are chicken, fresh parmesan, and prosciutto.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have cooking traditions in my family, so I've taken up the gauntlet and make two new recipes a week.
My cooking triumphs
I love to cook for people who are doubters, and convince them that yes, they can in fact (recent example) eat spinach if cooked the right way. Or pesto is a lot better than it looks.
My cooking tragedies
My first peanut sauce. It was pretty bland.

Lizzy's Creamy Chicken Bake
I served the chicken and sour cream/soup mixture over rice, and the family enjoyed it.

Ham and Bean Soup II
I added beef and chicken broth as a substitute for some of the water, and left out the carrots - it came out nicely.

Grilled Pork Panzanella
I baked the pork chops after they soaked overnight, and instead cut up the italian bread into thick chunks and toasted them with butter and pesto, put some in the salad and ate the rest as slices of bread. Also, added provolone cheese with the parmesan - it was amazing!
