About this Cook
Married and the mother of three teenage boys who are very active and play sports. Everyday, I am running here and there, always on the go. I love to watch my sons play sports and I also enjoy fishing, crocheting and of course, cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and make desserts. Family and friends always look forward to my desserts. I not much of a pie person but if one is requested I'll attempt it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother never liked to cook and she sometimes would ask me,"How did you ever learn to cook and bake because I never taught you". Well, when I was little I used to hang in the kitchen with my grandmom who lived next door to us. I would watch her bake and cook and I have many memories of her teaching me. When it comes to Thanksgiving, I use her stuffing recipe every year and my brother (God rest his soul) would say, "this is grandmom's recipe, isn't it"?
My cooking triumphs
I really can't think of a particular triumph, I feel a sense of accomplishment when my family tells me, "hey mom, that was really great".
My cooking tragedies
When I first got married, I was broiling a steak in the oven and the oven started to smoke. I got scared and ran for my husband who was taking a shower. He grabbed a towel and ran slipping and sliding on the floor but thank heavens everything was ok, just a little well done steak (Yuk).

Guacamole
I enjoyed the guacamole along with my son, but hubby didn't care for it. Followed the recipe exactly and next time I'll use a little less lime.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage
Loved it, everyone went back for seconds. I used half hot sausage and half sweet and the hot sausage gave it a nice spice flavor.

Peanut Butter Candy Bars
wow, so easy to make and the results were divine!! I did cut back on the confectioner's sugar, used 3 cups and I thought that it was sweet enough. Next time I'm going to use milk chocolate chips and see how it turns out.
