About this Cook
I'm 25, a stay at home mom and housewife. I've been married since 2005 and we have two great little boys. I love being a mom and wife and I'm also a hairstylist and makeup artist. I love to cook, and especially to eat. I have no self control with food, which I need to get or else its going to show. :) I also have a blog that I post some recipes on and other stuff. Check it out... www.theordinaryhousewife.blogspot.com
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. Cookies, brownies, cheesecakes, pie, whatever. I'm starting to try to master baking fresh bread. I like to cook fun snacks and stuff for the kids that are healthy and tasty. I try to get my husband to try new things because he grew up eating the same foods all the time (like meatloaf, tacos, hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc.)It is quite a challenge though! I'm trying to get my family eating healthier, so I'm really trying to make more things from scratch so I know exactly what's in everything. No fake stuff for us!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my mom and dads side of the family have outstanding cooks. So we have great holiday food. My dads side is Italian and we always have "green spaghetti" as one of the many dishes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And for Christmas Eve on my moms side we always have mexican food, which is wierd because we're not mexican. A tradition that I've started with my own little family is that I make a good pot of soup on Halloween.
My cooking triumphs
The best cookies ever, and fabulous cheesecakes.
My cooking tragedies
I'm sure I've had to have some, but I honestly cant think of any. Honestly!

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes
These were really great. Only thing I changes was that I used white sugar instead of brown. Served them with blueberry syrup. Awesome :)

Refreshing Watermelon Salad
I tought this was good. The watermelon I had wasn't that great, a little soft. So I'm sure if I had a better watermelon it would've been much better. Still was good though. I used some fresh basil instead of cilantro because thats what I had and I'm not a huge an of cilantro.
