About this Cook
I'm married with a 5 year old step-daughter. I just bought my first house!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook alot of different things... it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm in the mood to go all out and experiment, and others I just feel like making a huge pot of chicken and dumplings just like my mom taught me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cooked with my mom all the time, so any kind of cooking became a tradition for me.
My cooking triumphs
My husband grew up in a very "meat and potatoes" household, so every time I introduce him to new things and he loves them is a great triumph for me!
My cooking tragedies
I once found a recipe for a pumpkin flan in a magazine and was so excited to take it to my brother's house for Thanksgiving. I made a huge deal about the great dessert I was bringing. Well, when it came time to remove it from the pan, the whole thing just collapsed like Jello. I guess the moral of the story is you should always practice beforehand if the dessert depends on you!!

Cheesesteak Egg Rolls
I made these for a super bowl party last year and they were a huge hit! I added garlic powder and salt and pepper when I was frying the meat to add a little something. And I made a dipping sauce with mayo and horseradish to go along. So delish!!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
Like some others, I thought this recipe lacked just a little something. I also thought it was weird to make a rue only to add sour cream to it. I fried up a few strips of bacon to crumble into it, and also added about a 1/2 can of cream of celery soup also. They added just a little something to this recipe, and everyone raved about it!!! Can't wait to make it again this Thanksgiving!!

Corn Dogs
Very yummy. I've found that putting the prepared batter in a drinking glass helps ease the process... it's the perfect size tool to batter a hot dog!
