Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This is a great recipe. I've made it multiple times, sometimes I add a few more spices or substitute the apple for carrot. It always turns out moist and delicious.

Cheesy Bacon Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I made these muffins exactly as the recipe, and they were good but not excellent. The batter was super thick and the results were fluffy but definitely a biscuit and not a muffin.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
These cinnamon rolls are ok. I have made them two times now in good faith, but the dough is just too dry and fluffy for me. I even reduced the baking time the second time so that they were barely golden. I prefer cinnamon rolls to be moist even a little on the dense side and sticky. I won't make them again.

Asian Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
I made this as appetizer meatballs without the topping, I prepared the meatballs the night before and just popped them in the oven when I needed them. They were good served with Sweet Chili Thai Sauce which complimented the saltiness of them. As a meatloaf it would be way too salty in my opinion, the salt actually over powers the ginger and other flavours.

Beer Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
I really enjoyed this recipe I used 60g salted butter instead of shortening and ommited the added salt. They turned out perfect. We had them at breakfast with jam and for dinner I sliced them in half and used them to make mini pizzas they were a hit both ways.

Baked Asian-Style Honey Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
I really enjoyed this recipe, I used powdered ginger instead of fresh and didn't even have time to marinade and it turned out great. I didn't double the sauce and it was a perfect amount to glaze the chicken in a sticky sweetness almost like a honey garlic chicken wing. The sauce is actually very strong when it bakes down and gets sticky, double in my opinion would be to much.

Yeast Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
I love these pancakes. I always have trouble getting pancakes to be fluffy and not doughy but not with these! The first batch I made was a little salty, I use salted butter so that may have been the mishap the second time I used salted butter but ommited the salt in the recipe and they were perfect. The only complaint I have is these never cook up with a solid brown colour like in the photo, they are always kinda spotted looking when I do them on my stove but they taste great!

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
I was disappointed in this recipe, not only was the flavour mediocre, these cookies almost turn to dust in your mouth, like you were just eating a spoon of powdered sugar, it isn't very pleasent. They are also too delicate to withstand transporting around in a cookie tin.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
These are excellent cake brownies (as the picture suggests) light and refreshing as opposed to sticky lumps. Will use again!

Best Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
This recipe was excellent. I added a cup of blueberries because I was short apples, used orange juice like the other reader suggested and a splash of vanilla. Overall excellent it doesn't need sugar at all. The granny smith apples made the pie tangy and refreshing.
