About this Cook
I am a single Mom raising two amazing boys who are, thankfully, willing to try out my new recipes! I am a die-hard Food Network fan and have to admit that it is on almost 24/7.
My favorite things to cook
My Mom's supremely nummy lasagna, almost anything of Mexican origin, a good sirloin on the BBQ and my boys favorite - Chicken Satay with peanut sauce.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Eggs Benedict on Christmas morning while the kids open their stockings. I am also a very big fan of decorating for the holidays and that would include the dinner table. It is little things that can have big impact such as decorating the table with mini gourds and pumpkins for Thanksgiving. It adds a special touch that shows you care.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I tried to make Lobster Bisque. It turned out fantastic and I got rave reviews!
My cooking tragedies
The second time I tried to make Lobster Bisque! I sauteed the lobster shells for the all-important stock just a wee bit too much (ie...burned them) and it ruined the entire soup. What a waste!
