I grew up learning to cook from my grandmother Marietta (right off the boat from Italy) I have to say, that nothing anyone ever cooked can compare to hers though. All the aunts try, we get close, but no cigar.

I have a sugar and creamer set that is a pair of bluebirds. antique and adorable. I don't use a creamer, so I put salt in the little creamer and sugar in the covered sugar dish. When I made a flourles chocolate cake, I sprinkled salt all over the bottom and sides of the pan instead of the sugar, since the containers look identical. REALLY DISAPPOINTING when we were ready to dig in. funny though.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore
Thought this was just ok. I started with frozen chicken tenders and was sure to cover them with sauce to prevent them from drying out. During the last hour I added frozen corn and a can of black beans. Served over brown rice.

One Bowl Buttercream Frosting
This is a good basic recipe, I use half and half or cream for the liquid, and add slowly until I reach the consistancy I need. Sometimes I add a bit of espresso powder to increase the depth of the chocolate flavor.

Bran Flax Muffins
I was actually just going to post this recipe, after trying it from the pkg of Bob's flaxseed. I found a huge line of his products at Big Lots at a great price. The only difference is there is 3/4 c. brown sugar, which I thought was still too much. There is also no oil called for. I made it exactly as per the recipe and though it took alot longer to bake than 15 min, they were amazingly good. I noted from reading the pkgs of his products that they stay freshest in the fridge or freezer, and that flax seed is best if purchased in the whole seed, then ground in the coffee grinder before using. I bought the bag of oat bran just to use in the recipe, but it also made fantastic oatmeal in the microwave.
