Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Delicious! Will definitely make again. I added 1/2 t of vanilla extract, but it didn't really make much difference to the recipe, so I don't think I'll add it next time. It was a very tart bread, so I'm thinking I will add the drizzled icing topping the next time I make this. Thanks for the recipe!

Zucchini Risotto

We loved this!! This was my first time making risotto, and this recipe just turned out beautifully. I didn't have any sun-dried tomatoes, but that was the only change I made. Thanks so much for the recipe!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
These muffins are delicious. I'll be making these again for sure. We made them for Sunday morning breakfast. I did add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon cinnamon to the batter. I agree with the other reviews; I could've halved the streusel topping. I also had trouble getting the muffins out of the pan because of the streusel topping; any suggestions on how to get them out without the the streusel causing the muffins to break apart? Thanks for the recipe!

What a great way to use some overripe bananas! I think this will be my new banana muffin recipe. I didn't change a thing. They were fabulous. Thanks!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
These were pretty good! I'm a little unsure about the almond extract. I'm going to try this recipe again with just vanilla extract and also pre-salted macadamia nuts like another reviewer tried to see if it gives them something extra. I love white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and am still searching for that "perfect" recipe.

Super Moist Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This is amazing. I added a tiny amount of cloves and ginger and left out the flaked coconut and walnuts. SO moist. This is definitely replacing my current pumpkin bread recipe. Thanks much!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
Delicious. Like others here, I added 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and I also added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, because hey--when has banana bread not benefited from cinnamon? It came out darker than my usual banana bread recipe, but so, so moist, and it kept its crispy crust after refrigeration! Double bonus!

Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
Fabulous! I was looking for a good peanut butter cookie recipe, and I think I've found it! Even my boyfriend who doesn't like peanut butter cookies ate these and enjoyed them. I discovered why pb cookies have those characteristic fork tine marks after the first batch...my first batch came out a bit like peanut butter-flavored pebbles. But when I pushed them down with a fork for the second batch, they came out beautifully!! Definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
Absolutely delicious. I made this the night before eating, and we ended up pureeing the whole soup cuz the bf likes it that way (next time I'll set some aside for me that's only half pureed!). The flavors are delicious and satisfying. Didn't change anything else. Served with hot naan. Thanks for the recipe!

Avocado Quick Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Good--but the flavor of avocados is so mild that you could hardly taste it. It tasted like zucchini bread to me. I will try making it again and adding more avocados (I used two, maybe three would be better?), because whenever I did get a bite with a bit of avocado in it, the bread was creamy deliciousness. Thanks!

Carrot Cashew Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
After reading the other reviews here, I was thinking that maybe these flavors were going to be too weird for us in a quiche, but we totally loved this. It got even better the next day as well. Other than lightly chopping up the carrots and cashews in a food processor, I didn't change a thing. I served this with the avocado quick bread also on this website. A great brunch or light lunch dish and we thought delicious either hot or cold. Thanks for the recipe!

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
Eh....we were un-impressed with these. They were quite greasy and almost sickeningly sweet. I've loved nearly every cookie recipe I've tried making on allrecipes, but I don't think I'll make these again.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
This recipe is fabulous with a few changes. The texture of these pancakes is perfect, but they are a little bland as is. I cut the recipe in half, (because this makes A LOT!) and added about a tablespoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon each of vanilla extract and cinnamon, and a little extra salt. I think the lemon juice was what it needed the most. After that, they reallly were amazing diner quality pancakes with delicious crispy edges. They made a wonderful lazy Sunday morning breakfast!=) Thanks!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This was my first attempt at pie crust from scratch. I used butter instead of shortening and it still worked out pretty well (aside from my overstretching the dough on too large of a pie plate). I'll try this again with shortening and a correctly sized pie plate. Very flaky!

Curry Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This soup is ridiculously good. I made this to use up some unused Christmas dinner ingredients, and I think it's going to be replacing my current pumpkin soup recipe! I made a few changes: I added one chopped yellow onion, and about 2 tablespoons of minced garlic to the curry saute, and I replaced the vegetable stock with chicken stock and the cream with evaporated milk because I had it on hand and wanted to use it up. I'm sure this soup is great without any changes though! I also added a pinch of ginger. Served it with some warm crusty popovers. Delicious! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Marrakesh Vegetable Curry

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
Good, and really really healthy, too!! I added more of all the spices listed, and added some coriander and mace as well. As with all the curries I've tried making at home, it improves overnight. Try this the next day made as a sandwich between two slices of warm, slightly buttered bread. Thanks for the recipe!!

Gourmet Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
Between the streusel topping and the condensed milk, this pie was a little too sweet for our tastes. It was good, but it tastes alot like the sweet potato casserole dish we southerners make for holidays at home--and that recipe definitely doesn't need a replacement. It was really interesting and different...but I think I'll stick with my old fashioned pumpkin pie recipe. Thanks, though!
