These are excellent! I doubt I will buy canned again. I did not have jalapeno, so added a couple dashes of Tabasco. Used 7 cups of water and one 8 oz. can tomato sauce, only one tesaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon cumin. When they were done, I did not have to strain the beans, just mashed and they were a great consistency. I used a lot of spoons, because as it was cooling, I had to keep tasting it, with a sprinkle of salt each time. I doubt I will use all of these for tomorrow's lunch, so I am going to freeze the rest and see how that turns out for a later meal. Thank you for this recipe.
