Baked French Toast

Me...
About this Cook
I am a 27 year old mother of 3 boys . I have been married for 5 years and my husband is in the military. He is a Submariner and is out to sea alot, so time with my hubby is not so often. I have two idols in the culinary world. I don't not know where I would be without Alton Brown. He has taught me so much about EVERYTHING and his personality clicks with mine ( I even got my husband into cooking through him!) Also, Martha, I'm sorry but I love Martha! She has definitely helped shaped my 'housewife' ways...lol.. from cooking, to decorating to organization. Martha and Alton.. I love you!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things. I have always worked in food service and and have always had my hands on food. I have always wanted to go to culinary school but for now, I am home with my boys. I am not a casserole/ meatloaf type person. I definitely did not get that from my mother. I love more healthy and intresting things. I love old skool stuff but with a twist. I do alot of things without recipes and if I use recipes, I put my own two cents in.
My cooking triumphs
I have never been a baker/dessert type. I enjoy eating sweets but have always burned my cookies, or made dry cake or ruined whatever I basically touched that involved sugar. I have finally put any time I am bored into making random cookies or cakes and such forth. I have finally figured out why I would burn my cookies and have fixed the problem. After mastering my problems I awarded myself with a new Kitchen Aid mixer. I definitly give myself credit...lol
My cooking tragedies
Cookies! And oh yeah, my oh so dreded Tuna noodle casserole. ( I will never make it again.... never....) No wonder casseroles are EVIL!!!!!

Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies turned out awesome. I added 1/2 pkg of cream cheese and used 1/2 reg. choc. chips and 1/2 white choc. chips. I also added some walnuts, not many, but enough for some extra added crunch. They turned out so cake like, and moist... I just took the first batch out and tired one and was so excited I had to write before they were all done! I will make these again for sure :)

Baked French Toast
I loved this recipe. It is so nice to put this together the night before and just simply pop it in the oven in the am. Mine puffed up and was crispy and moist. I loved it! I will most def make it again and maybe add a few extra things next time.

Washabinaros Chili
I loved this Chili. I did make a few changes... I added celery and a green pepper along w/ the onion. I used Guiness for the beer and stew meat in place of the ground beef. I also bought a jar of pre-sliced Jalepeno peppers ( cause I always seem to itch my eyes after cutting fresh peppers...) and anyhow, it turned out great. Love it... props.
