I am a single mother trying to survive with my 11 year old son on my income as a designer jeweler. www.kathyanderson.net
My favorite things to cook
We enjoy cooking just about anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Sunday afternoons my son and I have started making elaborate recipies, some that we find here, in the Colorado Cache cookbook and in the Denver Post. I am trying to show him a complicated recipe is just words and a series of instructions that, taken one step at a time, can be easlily mastered.
My cooking triumphs
Helping to teach my son to be proficient in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
We took around 10 chocolate pie recipies from this site a few years ago, searching for the one perfect recipe. Some we only had one bite and gave the rest to the magpies. A couple we ate half of the pie then gave it to the magpies. After countless time and money invested in our search we settled on the one perfect one. The magpies seemed to enjoy our experiment. Our choice was the French Silk Pie, made with a chocolate graham cracker crust.
