Usually a career counselor, now a director of alumni at my favorite university, I love my husband, music, the outdoors, my cats, exercise, and vegetarian foods.
My favorite things to cook
As a vegetarian since 1993, I know what I like but am always looking for new, healthy recipes with an emphasis on quick and easy. I'm not an expert cook by any means; my husband does most of the complicated cooking. Every once in awhile I have a cooking adventure and come up with something good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband makes a great black bean soup, bean and cheese enchiladas, spinach artichoke dip, and he's won a few chili making contests. It's so spicy, folks don't know it's vegetarian. We also love a simple meal of wine, bread, cheese and fruit. Growing up we raised a lot of our own food. Christmas and New Year's included cheese and dip, two of my favorites still.
My cooking triumphs
Still working on it. Anytime I cook is a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
Cooking a pizza with the cardboard bottom, making soup from a mix and addding too much water, I'm sure there are more.
