About this Cook
I am a wife and mother to two children. I work full time as an OB-RN. We are all involved with 4-H---my children show their dairy cows at the local county fair.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake---cookies, breads, whatever. I don't mind making dinner if the family would give me some ideas what to try next---getting a little bored with the same old same old. My family eats so much chicken that they now call chicken "chicken again." Still in search of the "perfect" brownie, chocolate chip cookie, etc. Have come extremely close but am always looking. I have always had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for my kids for the first day of school---now that the oldest is in college, her friends on the field hockey team from high school still look forward to the cookies during practice. I enjoy baking and sending it to friends' children who are away at school. Nothing like getting a care package from home. Always thought that that would make a great business.

Making recipes that have been handed down through the generations---especially during the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest satisfaction is when friends compliment me on some baked goods. Nothing like hearing someone else's family ask for cookies or brownies since "no one in their family bakes." Maybe that is a little smug but I love the compliments.
My cooking tragedies
My brother and I made some pasta dish with some kind of sauce to go with it---the sauce burned and it smelled terrible. I was about 12 at the time. Never did try that recipe again.

Blueberry Buckle
Wonderful!!! I changed it---I doubled the recipe. If you are going to make a mess, you might as well make two of them. I also used brown sugar instead of white since that is how my family likes the topping. Thanks for sharing!!!

Chicken Marsala
Made this recipe and it came out wonderful!!! Didn't have any sherry and put twice as much Marsala as it was called for (by accident) and it was great. Since my family likes mushrooms, I will probably add more mushrooms next time. Definitely a keeper---thanks for sharing.

Applesauce Cake VI
Have made this recipe 3 times in the last few days---great recipe!!! Followed the advice of others and substituted 1/2 cup of oil with 1/2 cup of applesauce. Th cake is wonderful---everyone liked it. Thanks for sharing.
