Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
About this Cook
I am a RN who loves to cook and bake on my days off. I love to use fresh herbs and vegetables from my garden if they are in season. Enjoy sharing some of my concoctions with my coworkers, friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
Fresh ingrediants with a mediterranean flair. Love to make pizza's and homemade bread. Experiment with vegetarian dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making fresh pasta and cookies with my children when they were young. Now I look forward to sharing with some grandchildren the same traditions.
My cooking triumphs
Buffets that I prepared for my son's high school graduations. Not overcooking fried calamari. Able to adapt any recipe to our taste and try to make it healthier.
My cooking tragedies
When I was only 8 yrs old I made my first cake and put the icing in the cake before it was baked.

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip
I only made a few changes to the recipe but I bet it would have been just as good if I hadn't. Used leftover baked chicken and thigh,1/4 cup of the hot sauce and added a small diced onion and 2 celery sticks instead of one, last but not least did not have any bleu cheese dressing so used all ranch. I would say that the recipe is versatile enough to play around with and still have great results. Thanks for adding another terrific recipe from this site.

Garlicky Green Beans with Mushrooms
Altered just a bit. Used 4 cloves of garlic because we love garlic. Olive oil instead of the butter and added a sprinkling of crushed red pepper to taste. Great ingrediants and flavors! Definitely worth trying. Will make again.

Middle Eastern Rice with Black Beans and Chickpeas
Enjoyed this very much. I did cut the amount of beans in half. Great combination of spices. This is a keeper! Thanks for the post.
