About this Cook
My wife loves it when I make meals. We've been married for 25+ years and it's only getting better! (my cooking and our friendship). Our daughters think it's cool to have a dad that can cook and shop for groceries.
My favorite things to cook
I love to Deep Fry a Turkey at least once a year. I love to make Chicken soup, seasoned turkey burgers on the grill, pot roasts, sloppy joes, Tilapi, cowboy beans. I just need ideas from time to time, so I spend time surfing AllRecipes.com frequently.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A meal with family and friends. It can be a summer cookout or a Christmas dinner. I love it when people like the food I have prepared.
My cooking triumphs
A delicious pea soup for a dutch themed dinner that we had in our neighbor hood. And having prepared a ham for Christmas dinner with friends and family.
My cooking tragedies
I'll go check my e-mail while this simmers a bit.......Well, it was smoldering upon my return. For a while I had to plan a back up idea for dinners.

Flatlander Chili
Good but I like the Chili by George (another chili recipe by George Couch) recipe better. Even though they are similar. I will make this again!

Butternut Squash Casserole
A little sweet even after cutting down on the sugar. But it was a hit at dinner. I didn't have any vanilla wafers so I used granola. It was very good too.
