About this Cook
I am a single mom of an 8yr old, who loves to help me out in the kitchen. His specialty is cracking the eggs. I come from a family of great cooks. I have great memories of being in the kitchen with my Mom and Grandma. Holidays have always been special at my house and a time to feast. My favorite meal would have to be Thanksgiving.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, my dream is to someday own a bakery. I enjoy cooking just about anything, sweet and savory. I love cooking dishes that look and taste like I've slaved in the kitchen for hours, but in reality, were quick and easy. No one is the wiser.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just about every female in our family will gather before Christmas and bake cookies together, hundreds and hundreds of cookies. Another tradition is our Thanksgiving meal. It is the same every year, but then again, why mess with perfection.
My cooking triumphs
My number one triumph would have to be baking/decorating my sister's wedding cake. I was a nervous wreck, but it turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any major cooking tragedies, but several minor mishaps. My ovens not the greatest, so I've burned my share of meals!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Followed the recipe exactly. I thought they were just OK, felt they were to sweet and sugary. Prefer the Toll House recipe over this one.

Sauce Rosee
I made this dish almost as written, added sauteed shrimp in mine and grilled chicken for my BF and son. I do not like green peppers, so skipped adding them to the dish. My sauce thickened perfectly and coated the tortellini without a problem. I loved this dish. Unfortunately I was the only one, my BF and son did not care for the sauce. I would make again and they can fend for themselves next time

Oven Brown Rice
I loved this recipe. Served with fish. The rice turned out very flavorful and tender. I ran out of seasoning salt so I replaced with a little chicken flavored seasoning salt and kosher salt. I also added a little parsley for color. Two more things, used low sodium chicken broth and baked covered.
