The flavor was good, but the texture was mushy. I suggest adding cooked rice after the meat and cabbage is done.

Spiced Banana Cake

The allspice REALLY overwhelmed the banana flavor in this cake. The Oats gave an odd texture for a cake- it didn't rise very well. It would have been a better texture for a muffin rather than a cake

Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

This is one of those dishes my kids ask for every holiday. And weekday, and weekend :-) The way my Greek mother taught me- sprinkle the serving dish with grated cheese, layer on a third of the pasta, sprinkle with cheese, layer 1/3 pasta, sprinkle more cheese, layer rest of pasta, sprinkle with cheese. In a fry pan, heat butter until slightly browned Pour over the very hot browned butter over the pasta and cheese

rave reviews from the family on this one. I wish that the meat had a bit crisper "crust"- I might cook it at a high temp to start, and then reduce the oven for the last half of cooking
