About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake for the holidays. Desserts, cookies, & appetizers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Quite a few years back I started a cookie & ornament exchange with the women in my family & close friends. It has become such a fun get-together that we all look forward to every year. I have also now become the designated baker in the family to carry on my Grandma's wonderful recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Being able to re-create some of my families most loved recipes that have been passed down for generations.
My cooking tragedies
Some of my fat free recipes, what an awful baking fiasco! My husband & I had not been married long when I tried a fat free banana bread, it was dry, & tasteless! I was going to throw it out then I noticed my husband had been eating it! I asked him if he liked it, he said it was ok, I said that I thought it was horrible! Well, he told me he had not wanted to hurt my feelings! We had a good laugh & tossed the awful bread!

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies
Mmmm... nice soft cookies. I halved the recipe & added butterscotch chips I also melted the margarine. I would have liked a chewier cookie, I will try real butter next time. The butterscotch chips are a must! I will make again.

Split-Second Cookies
The cookies tasted really good, however, the logs really spread out. I think next time I will use this recipe for thumb print cookies.

Maple Walnut Pumpkin Pie
Ok, I didn't make the pie listed, I used the Libby's pumpkin recipe using the walnut topping on this pie it turned out delicious! I made one with a graham cracker crust & a regular pie crust both were awsome!
