About this Cook
I am the only "cook" in my family. Neither of my parents care for it. I have two boys, one of which loves to help in the kitchen. My husband has benefitted for my cooking skills and will miss it while he is in Iraq. The Lord had blessed me greatly and I cook to glorify Him.
My favorite things to cook
I have recently found a desire to bake. Cookies, cakes, pies. Which is something I never found enjoyable before. I still enjoy making casseroles and stir fry. My son, who is extremely picky, is finally liking food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have lots of them. We try a new breakfast casserole everytime we bring breakfast to Sunday School and our Sunday night Bible study we all try to out do each other with our refreshments. Its a lot of fun to try new recipes to Wow everyone.
My cooking triumphs
I found a recipe for drunk chicken and smoked it. The most incredible chicken I have ever tasted. I wish I would have kept the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Oatmeal in the slow cookers. By Morning it was hard and crusty all around except the very center, which had the consistancy of paste.

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia
I cheated. I saw others complaining about blandness so I used italian bread crumbs and mixed in a little dry ranch dressing mix. I omitted the flour and cornmeal and it tasted fine. Even my picky 7 year old liked it.

Maple Apple Crisp
first off let me say this: I did enjoy this recipe very much. It is simple, tasty and perfect for a cold blustery fall day, but it doesn't taste close to traditional apple crisp (which is what I wanted) but I will keep it for the next sugar craving I have.

Cupcake Graveyard
This was a great idea. I wish I was this clever. My son's 2nd grade class thought this was neat-o. to keep with the halloween theme I used devil's food cake and choco frosting. I tossed around the idea of using the kids itinals on the tombstone but that was too much work. They l;oved this.
