Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
I've made this recipe several times as written, and love it. They make a great snack to take to work. The first time I made it, I beat the egg whites too long and the pecans were so sharp they cut the rood od my mouth. I've also learned to buy good pecans, not the cheapest bag. I like the Market Pantry brand at Target.

Orange Crunch Cake

This cake is great with Sour Cream Frosting (also a 5 star) I prefer to leave the crunch side down. Either way, it's a fabulous cake. Enjoy!

Baked Potato Soup I

I prefer to use fresh potatoes with the skin on. It's a very hearty soup and freezes well.

I made these for Christmas, and they were very well received. They taste like brownies and freeze well.

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

FANTASTIC! I made it for a birthday, and it was well received. I baked my own cake and made fresh whipped cream instead of using Cool Whip. (I sweetened it a bit) I used my glass punch bowl and piped extra whipped cream around the top. It looked great and tasted even better!

Little Mickey's Favorite Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
I made this for my dad, a peanut butter lover. It got great reviews from the entire family. I used honey roasted peanuts in the crust and skipped the cinnamon. I also used milk choc chips, so I cut the sugar by 1/4 cup. Instead of a water bath I put a glass dish filled with water in the oven on the lowest rack. The texture was near perfect (I over baked it a bit) Still, it was awesome!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Pretty and delicious. I love this salsa. I served this as a Thanksgiving appetizer and even GRANDMA ate it! I suggest using petite cut tomatoes, I used regular diced and they were a bit big.

Slow Cooker Barbeque

I loved this! I'll probably omit or cut down the garlic next time, but that is a personal preference. I used Famous Dave's BBQ sauce. I froze the leftovers in sandwich sized portions, but they only lasted 2 days, so I don't know how well it freezes. : )

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2005
Love it, love it, love it! Very rich and smooth. Mine didn't crack, had perfect texture and just the right amount of Irish. I chose not to alter the ingredients, but I did put a shallow cake pan with about 3 inches of water in the oven before preheating. This adds moisture to the oven, preventing cracks. This technique always works for me. I also bring the eggs to room temperature. This cheesecake is a new favorite. My coworkers, family and friends have all asked for more. I recommend fresh whipped cream as a garnish.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
I agree, this IS yummy. I increased the recipe by about 50%, and it turned out great. Next time I won't increase the topping amount, I should have just used the original amount. Still, everyone at Christmas loved it.

This recipe is similar to my favorite cookie recipe from my (lost) Betty Crocker Cookie Book. I loved this recipe! I'll still look for my book, but I have a new favoite.
