Cranberry Sauce Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
We love this recipe (given to me at a bridal shower) and have been enjoying it for over 5 years now. One tip: I bake it at 350F, uncovered for 45 minutes and the chicken comes out much more tender and completely baked through. This version seems to make it dry.

Very good! Maybe omit the red pepper, it really can add some heat for those more picky. But very easy dish!

This tastes so good! We didn't have enough lemons, so we used lemon juice and it worked great!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Great recipe, especially when almost all these ingredients are already in your home. I omitted the celery and halved the recipe for only two of us. We'll have leftovers for 1-2 more meals. (I also cooked it in our toaster oven to save on space since the oven was being used--it turned out great). This would be great at a holiday/large family meal if not halved!

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
The curry gives it a kick that keeps you coming back for more. Like another review said, this is a wonderful "everything but the kitchen sink" soup. Added green beans, didn't have and garbanzo/chick peas on hand. Very easy to make, only simmered about 1 hour.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

This was a great recipe! I added 1/2 block of a cream cheese block and cut down on the butter. It was excellent and creamy. Just like my grandma's old recipe.

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
Good dish, but needs just a slight change. Made it tonight for my husband and I. The aroma is excellent, but the flavor is lacking something else. We both agreed that adding chopped roasted red pepper with the mushrooms might be just what it needs. We'll try again--Thanks for a tasty dish we can make our own.

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
Loved it--and we were surprised! We had this as an appitzer for my dad's birthday and everyone was raving about it. This dish could easily be used for dinner with a side salad or for a Superbowl party. Fun alternative to boiled pasta. Also--we used our new deep fryer and put the thawed cheese ravioli in for about 5 minutes and they came out perfect.

Handsdown this is better than any other. We served this when celebrating my dad's birthday and it was a hit! A few days after, it was still very good, and the flavors were enticing!

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
Made this for my dad's 50-something birthday with the whole family up to celebrate and it was a hit! The salad dressing is unlike store brand poppyseed dressing with a lighter taste. We also used a spring greens mix instead. The combination of swiss, dried cranberries, cashews, apple and pear were delightful for these winter months. Thanks for another great recipe!

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
Made twice. First time was a little thick because I cooked it for about 20 minutes. When making again I was sure to not cook it longer than 15 minutes. Took the advice and used half & half rather than hvy cream. Was a hit among everyone at our party. Enjoy!

Great alternative to the easy boxed cake recipe. It really blows that away! We added toasted coconut to top off the cake and it was great. We've made it twice in the past month--one for a bachlorette party and one for a birthday. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Spinach Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
This was very disappointing. When following the recipe exact, it was incredibly too salty. I had to add an extra can of diced tomatoes and 2 cans of tomato sauce and it still was unsucessful. We also added 3/4 cup sugar to attempt to kill the over powering crushed red pepper. I had higher expectations, but this time this recipe wasn't for me. Bummer!

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
This dish is incredible!!! The flavor is intensely captivating...Just make sure you watch the chicken as it's cooking-it can burn easily with the crust. Also, we didn't use 3/4 c butter for the final glaze, rather, we used around 6 tablespoones and it was great. (Last time was a little buttery). We really enjoyed it--Thank you so much for the recipe!

Bubba's Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
My guests liked it, but I thought it was incredibly too buttery in taste. Maybe I goofed something up, but I'm not sure I'll be making this again. The fruit combination with the jello and pretzels was great, it was just the bottom "crust" that become more overwhelming than enjoyable.

good, not the best, but very good. we had a hard time making it look presentable with the cream cheese on top--so we just mixed it all together after it was heated and ready to go. Still tasted great and it blended the flavors together well. Enjoy and thanks for the recipe.
