These are awesome. I made them the recipe way and they were awesome. I didn't have any butter tonight and I made them with 3/4 c of oil and 1./4 cup of applesauce. THey turned out really good and moist. I did slightly miss the butter flavor of the original recipe, next time I am going to try 1.2 c butter and then the other 1/2 cup as oil or applesauce or a mixture of the two.

Very good. I have tried to make pinto beans several times and they have never turned out. My husband is a southern boy and although these were spicier than his mom makes he still loved them. My two sons 1 and 3 also enjoyed them
