About this Cook
I am married to a police officer, and we have 3 young kids. I love to cook in my free time. It relaxes me, and I just find joy in it.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Cookies, cake, bread (machine!). I love any excuse to use the slow cooker. And I enjoy finding budget-friendly recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas Eve, my husband's family in Kentucky gets together with a "Christmas Spread". The dining room table is completely covered with all sorts of yummy goodies and sandwhich platters. And every Christmas Day, my mom always cooks a lasagna. So we've adopted both family traditions for our own family.
My cooking triumphs
Im really good at cheesecakes and crockpot recipes. I can't mess those up. And my bread machine is my best friend!
My cooking tragedies
I cook so often, a new tragedy always seems to slip in once in a while. I tried to make a lentil soup once, and it bombed. I added smoked kielbasa, the whole bit. It smelled wonderful, but came out looking like this ultra thick, dark grey mass. It was hideous looking, and noone dared to even touch it. I haven't gotten up the nerve to try cooking with lentils since.

Easy Chicken and Biscuits
Very nice!! We've made this a number of times. I've made it with chicken, turkey, ham, leftover steak, ground beef, and even sliced hot dogs in a pinch. Extremely versatile. Love love love it.

Scalloped Potatoes 'n' Franks
Very, very good! Made as is, except we used cheddar cheese. Definately a keeper. We all loved this.
