Very fresh taste. My husband loved it. I did use half an onion instead of only one onion slice and substituted whole allspice for the whole cloves because that's what I had on hand. Easy to make; I'll definitely make again. A good way to use up extra garden tomatoes that would otherwise go to waste.

I had a quart of cottage cheese that I needed to use or lose, so decided to try this. Read all reviews and followed suggestions, extra cereal and baked longer. Had two loaves, so planned to give one to my sister. Unfortunately, by the next morning ours was gone and the one intended for her family had already been dug into. I can't say I think it tastes like real meatloaf, but it is darn good. My only complaint is it was a little too salty for my taste; I used both onion soup and meatloaf seasoning so that might be the reason. However, would definitely recommend it! Will make again.
