This was okay, but not necessarily what I was looking for. It definitely needs something other than sour cream as a dressing. I even (at the suggestions of others) added some dried dill weed and a splash of vinegar. Not terrible, but I'm going to look for another recipe.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could. This is an absolute perfect cake for a nice brunch. I made it on Mother's Day and my mom and sister couldn't stop raving about it. It's not too sweet, just right. I will make this again. . .and again! Thanks for this great recipe.

This recipe is very good, however the "brownie" part really is more like cake, and it can get a little gummy (probably due to the syrup). Also, I have to agree with many others, I had to bake the brownie layer for almost an hour. I put it in for 25 min., then an extrat 10, then an extra 5, it still wasn't done, so I just kept an eye on it until it was. Realistically, the baking time should be listed as 45 minutes.
