About this Cook
I have been married for 11 years and we have 3 boys and 1 girl. I am currently trying to lose the baby weight and am looking for healthy recipes. I love cooking, but I don't like spending all day doing it. My kids love to help in the kitchen too so we are always on here looking for 'kid-friendly' recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake, especially cookies. I like making bread, but I would rather do quick breads because they are, well.....quicker!! We have dinner as a family at least 5 nights a week. So, I am constantly looking for something new and exciting to cook for dinner. My family is great at being the guinea pigs!! I love the rating system on this website. I really only make the recipes that are at least 4 stars and I know it will be great! And they usually are!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays are always a traditional time for us. We make a lot of the same recipes at certain holidays. If they aren't made, somebody gets mad!!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I can get my kids to eat veggies without giving them a glass of milk to wash it down with!!
My cooking tragedies
Don't really have any. I see myself as a pretty good cook with the knowledge to know if a recipe will be good or not before I make it. Pictures always help too!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
These are SO yummy! I double the muffin recipe, but don't double the topping. It makes enough for a double batch! My kids love them!

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch
This was really yummy! I used a little more fruit, & sprinkled a little cinnamon & nutmeg in with the topping, but kept everything else the same. I actually halved the recipe (& used 4 c. fruit) & baked in 7X11 pan. Never cooked rhubarb before, so wasn't sure how big the pieces should be. Turned out great though. Even 11 yr old liked it. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
