About this Cook
I am a 2 year breast cancer survivor. I work full time for a software company in technical support. I am a student at our local college and will have my AS degree next year in Library Science. I started a jewelry making business this year. I am mother of two, stepmother of 2 and grandmother of 4. I love to cook and bake, and I love to read. I live at a beautiful lake on the Central Coast of California. It is a new up and coming wine region so we do wine tasting and events.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook dishes with lots of FLAVOR! I love goat cheese and feta cheese and I love to make sauces. I love to bake desserts but my husband isn't a sweet eater so I end up bringing them to work, which has made me very popular!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cioppino on Christmas Eve, Hoppin John on New Years Day and the full spread for Thanksgiving!
My cooking triumphs
I made all the food for my daughter's baby shower last year. I think it was a big hit. People couldn't believe I made all the food!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to mention, but I learned from each one!!

Southwest Skillet
Very easy and I had most of the ingredients on hand. I added some salsa to the mix and served it over the chips and let everyone put the cheese , green onions and sour cream on top. It makes a LOT of food!!

Chocolate Truffle Cookies
Oh my!! I just cooled the first batch and my husband and I each tried one cookie and both said "oh my!". These are so warm and gooey and yummy they are never going to make it to Christmas! I already added the ingredients to my grocery list so that I can make them again!

Mom's Zucchini Bread
Yummmm....The best use of zucchini I have found! This was delicious as written, but I did find that 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup white and the addition of dried cranberries took it over the top.
