Barbie Doll Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
Instructions for making a Barbie cake were in our local paper. The article suggested making the bowl, then a second cake mix was used to make 2-9" layers. Stacking these made the cake tall enough for the doll.

Wave Your Flag Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
The recipe on the cool whip site now has a cream cheese layer. If you decide to use that double the amount it suggests. My family said it got lost between the jello laye & the cool whip layer. Made this using suga free everything & a low sugar cake mix still turned out GREAT!!!

seasoned to personal taste ths is a great recipe. On the days my "non pepper" members eat at my house I sub green & yellowbeans for the peppers.

Colossal Caramel Apple Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
Caramel & apples what else do we need? When making a trifle I always use less milk than it calls for so I have a "stiffer" pudding, the cake doesn't get soft as fast. And I don't see why caramel wouldn't work wth peaches. how about chocolate & cherry pie filling

Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
My mother always used pickled beets for her eggs, so their tang depended on how these were made. However if you don't like beets, you might want to try your favorite dill pickle.

False Cabbage Rolls

This is good but I have one that likes the meat and doesn't like the cabbage. To keep her happy I make little meatballs and cook them in the oven Then go from there

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Worked great, needed a little more cooking time to fit my schedule so Ilowered the temp to 250 and baked for 6 hrs. Stir fried a cole slaw mix with the apple for a crew tht doesn't care for kraut. Everything was very tasty.

We do the baked in an open roaster pan, everyone fights over the crisp top. Also make for new years with mashed potatoes, porkroast, &sauerkraut. Pile the potatoes & dressing and put your gravy overtop. My grown children take my leftovers home to "snack" on.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

I make a similar dish. However my family has cabbage lovers & haters to solvre this I make a batch of meatballs & layer them with bought coleslaw mix. This has carrots etc in it. If you find it too bland you can always use your favorite pasta sauce.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2005
I make this all rhe time. It was something my mother made when we were in school. Instead of the onion powder I finely chop a luttle onion and sometimes add some diced tomatoes to my hamburger meat or a little bit of spaghetti sauce. This is also good served with white or brown rice or very crispy french fries. My children liked to dunk them in the gravy.
