About this Cook
I am a 42 year old stay-at-home Mom of a 4 year old and 9 year old.
My favorite things to cook
I get so much enjoyment out of cooking and baking. I get excited over any reason to create a feast. Super Bowl, Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, JUST BECAUSE ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY OUTSIDE, Good Report Card, etc. etc. Our friends and family enjoy coming to our house for a meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My two daughters and I bake cookies, cakes, and other sweets and make Christmas gifts for teachers, church members and friends. I collect unique baskets and gift boxes throughout the year.
My cooking triumphs
Catered an outdoor luncheon for twenty people for a friends mother's 65 birthday party. WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. Attendees thought she had hired a professional.
My cooking tragedies
I have been cooking since I was 12. My grandmother taught me to make biscuits from scratch, the old fahioned southern way WITH LARD. When I was 17 I made biscuits for a very elderly gentleman who was a friend of the family. I used all purpose flour instead of self rising. THEY WERE NASTY. The gentleman spread jam on them and ate them anyway. That's the reason I called him a GENTLEMAN. I never forgot this cooking disaster or his reaction.

Luscious Slush Punch
I used this recipe when I recently catered a graduation party. There was NONE left. Everyone young and old LOVED it. As suggested by previous reviews, I cut the sugar in half. I used standup half gallon freezer bags so I could press on the bag and make soft before putting into the punchbowl. This was easier than using plastic containers. I also recently used Black Cherry jello and people commented it was better than Parrot Ice.

Grandma's Five Cup Salad
Made this yesterday for Thanksgiving. There is none left today. Excellent and so easy.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
I am sorry but I didn't think this was as great as everyone says. My family barely touched it. It just didn't turn out right for me and I followed the recipe. The flavor nor appearance was appealing.
