About this Cook
i work with seniors. i like the water (re: i am not a natural hiker). i live in Davis and like it here, so quit trying to make me say that i want to move to the bay area. haha. no really. and the farmers market is cute.
My favorite things to cook
Love to bake anything, am a big fan of learning new ways to cook fish, and am trying to "make over" recipes to be more healthy. its a losing battle.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Brownies. Pot roast. Amazing lime/mustard salmon. Working on some new ones...
My cooking triumphs
Lemon bars...messed around with many recipes until I created an awesome one - the key is definitely zest and more lemon juice, and a good shortbread recipe! I guess the triumph is really having more successes than disasters, which i am prone to. haha.
My cooking tragedies
There isn't enough room. Lets see...I am famous for burning things (3 batches of brownies in one day), I made the most disgusting scallop/pasta dish that I threw down the disposal (it came back up through the pipes - I wanted to move from that apartment immediately, if not sooner). horrifying fish curry that called for a huge amount of ground lemongrass and ginger - looked and tasted like cat sick.

Perfect Pressure Cooker Pot Roast
so good! based on reviews, i used 1/2 of each packet of italian/ranch dressings, the full gravy packet (i used mushroom) and i also added celery and about 1 cup red wine. i cooked it for 35 minutes, then let the steam out and added carrots for the last 15 minute of cooking. amazing. will definitely make again! so much faster than cooking it in the dutch oven/slow cooker. thanks for sharing the recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
This was really good. I cut the recipe in half and used slightly more Franks Red Hot and slightly less dressing - and I mixed blue cheese and ranch because that sounded good. People ate it up but it did seem to be a tad salty at the end. Thanks for the post - it was fun football food.

Seven Layer Taco Dip
It was good, but I omitted the lettuce and green peppers. But the main reason I did not rate this 5 stars is that I did not necessarily see the point of mixing cream cheese with the sour cream. More calories, not overwhelmingly more flavor. Good, but not great. Thanks though!
