Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style with side of Greek Salad

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel
After picking some fresh apples, I decided to try this recipe. This was so good and did not last long enough for seconds. I made the following changes after reading reviews 1: used frozen pie shell, and brushed it with an egg white. Bake it for 5-10 minutes, then proceeded with recipe. 2: Increased flour for pie filling to an even 1/4 cup. 3:Omitted lemon peel/zest. 4: using 'quick cooking' oats. Other than that, followed the recipe. Everyone LOVED this...I will be making it again for thanksgiving!

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style
My family enjoyed this recipe very much and felt like we had ordered greek take out. The chicken was delicious. I did add 2 cloves of garlic to the marinade. As well, I did not have any whole chicken breasts, so I marinated the chicken pieces, and then placed them on wooden skewers. I broiled them for about 15 mins. in my convection toaster oven. Couldn't have tasted any better. This chicken with the marinade would be great on it's own, in a salad, etc.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler
I was drawn to this recipe b/c of the great reviews and b/c of the simplicity of the recipe. I was very disappointed with the outcome, and can’t understand why it has such a high rating. I used fresh blueberries and fresh strawberries, and I followed the directions, with the exception of reducing the butter to 2tbps. It turned out soggy/mushy in the center, but more cake like on the edges. And by the following morning, it was even more of a mushy mess. The taste wasn’t horrible, but certainly does not warrant making it again. After discovering how it turned out, I reread the recipe several times trying to figure out where I went wrong, but I followed all the directions as written. I will not be making this again.
