About this Cook
I recently got married and I love trying out new recipes on my husband:) I love love love to bake!
My favorite things to cook
Well obviously-cookies, cakes, pies, and specialty desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and usually my sister come over a couple of weeks before Christmas and we bake all day. When we are done we have buckeyes, christmas cut-out cookies, some kind of fudge, truffles, divinity-if we have the time, and pecan snowballs.
My cooking triumphs
My toffee crunch tiramisu. My husbands melts at the sight! The flavor combo of coffee and chocolate is irresistable! Ive loved this recipe since the first time I made it and I used to hate coffee.
My cooking tragedies
I was preparing a romantic dinner for my husband and it was the first time I had tried to fix cornish hens. They werent completely dethawed and so they didnt really cook too well...everything else turned out so we just picked what we could off of them. Oh well.

Brown Sugar Smokies
This is one of the best party recipes ever! I've never baked them though-just toothpick them and toss them in the crock pot for around 3 hours. The bacon comes out nice and chewy and they are drenched in the sugar glaze. I have brought them to many parties but never brought any back home!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
Love it! I was looking for a recipe that didnt spread out and these are definitely it. I always add extra vanilla, like maybe a couple tsp worth and a little less than the amount of choc chips it calls for. Chilling the dough some seemed to help too. This is my favorite cookie recipe! Im making them again soon, but this time it will be for cookie lollipops. Im hoping the texture works in my favor!

Apple Delight
Loved it! Took this to a reunion and came home with 2 pieces left! Im not sure where the too sweet reviews come from...ours was just fine. I used 1 can of filling, butter yellow mix, and 1.5 sticks of butter. Next time I will make sure to have 2 cans! Do mix the butter into the cake mix first, it makes for a cakier tasting topping! Thanks!
