About this Cook
I'm a busy working mom of 2 kids (ages 3 and 5) who has great aspirations to turn my kids into healthy eaters.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook tasty dinners (no fish, please!) and tend to lean towards Italian fare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday my husband insists I make good old spaghetti and meatballs. My kids aren't always very receptive but someday we hope they will look back fondly on the tradition. I also love to make cookies with my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Any time my daughter walks in the kitchen and asks "What is that delicious smell"?
My cooking tragedies
Easter Sunday's lamb cake. I had such hopes for a beautiful presentation, but then the head and neck fell off and we dubbed it the"slaughtered lamb" cake. It was still tasty and everybody ate it just the same, it just wasn't the way I had hoped, but what ever is?

Spicy Sweet Potatoes
SO GOOD! Made it a couple of weeks ago with a turkey meatloaf and I'm making it for Thanksgiving! I think it'll be a nice change from the sweet potato with marchmallows that nobody eats!

Deep Dish Brownies
Flavor was OK; I like mine with more deep chocolate flavor but I was looking for a recipe with cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate (I was out) and this fit the bill. The cooking time is too long! I set the timer for 40 minutes and fortunately looked at 35 because they were already a little overdone. They're OK in a pinch. For those looking for a REALLY fudgy brownie (granted with a little more effort, but if you're going to do it, do it right!) go to Baking with Julia. I have made those and became a legend for it.

Banana Muffins II
These were wonferful; didn't last a day at my house. Added milk chocolate chips and cinnamon; otherwise prepared as the recipe stated. An addition to my recipe box.
