The Center for Disease Control offers a Q&A about the current Swine Flu outbreak. Among the questions:

Can I get swine influenza from eating or preparing pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

For more info, see the webpage that the CDC has created to address the swine flu. You can also sign up to receive email updates about the flu.

Thanks. I definitely think everyone's going a little overboard with this recent pandemic. Considering that there are a larger # of population that die of our regular influenza strands each year.

About Me
I live with my wife in the Pacific Northwest.
My favorite things to cook
We lean toward relatively simple dishes that for the most part use fresh local, seasonal ingredients. We haunt the farmer's markets around town.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not too many really. Gradually, over the years, my wife and I sort of set out on our own, developing our interests together. It's been fun. And filling.
My cooking tragedies
Plenty. I manage to reduce my total number of serious screw-ups by steadfastly refusing to bake.
