About this Cook
I am a recipe junkie!! I love to try new things and add my own twists. Although I am a recipe hound, I also enjoy cooking old family favorites which have been served for generations. ( Of course I never feel like I do them justice).
My favorite things to cook
I love all things food; cooking, baking, serving, shopping, eating, etc. Therefore I enjoy making most types of dishes. I have recently started cooking healthier by using less fats and adding flavor with herbs and spices. The results are amazing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My all time favorite times in the kitchen involve different generations creating together. The good natured bantering, stories and laughter. Most of these are during holidays and other celebrations.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner which "tasted as good as Nana's" has to be my biggest triumph.
My cooking tragedies
I had spent Sunday afternoon making the perfect roast. As soon as I placed it on the table and turned to close the oven door, Sugar, our yellow lab grabbed it off of the table and gobbled it down. We went to Sonic for dinner.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce
I fried the fish in a little olive oil as suggested by others. Next time, I would omit the salt. We loved the Cajun spice and the sauce. My husband doesn't usually care for fish, but had seconds of this dish. Thanks for the recipe!

Country Quiche
This is a great dish and my family loves it. I have substituted the ham for bacon, and have added a variety of veggies. It is a quick and easy dinner.

Chicken Potpie
This recipe is wonderful. Although a bit more time consuming than using canned soups, well worth it!! Thanks Karen for giving us a new family favorite.
