Chocolate Torte
I have been using this recipe for years...passed down from my grandfather...we refer to it as Big Daddy's chocolate cake...it is THE BEST! Use Dutch processed cocoa (Penzeys is the closest I can find to good European cocoa)...VERY good. I use my own frosting recipe...everyone who eats it simply raves! If you love chocolate...try it out!

Mulligatawny Soup I
We loved this...I did change a few things...I added two cloves of crushed garlic (can't have Indian food without garlic!)...added 1 1/2 tsp garam masala...diced two potatoes and added them with the rice...and, most importantly I used basmati rice - not long grain...this will make the soup taste even more authentic!!! Oh, I also used half and half instead of cream and used olive oil instead of butter to help cut the fat. I didn't saute the chicken, just chopped it up and put it in the simmering soup...DELICIOUS!!!!!
