About this Cook
I'm 27 and have 3 kids and a wonderful husband. When we first got married I couldn't cook at all, could barely boil water but after he was out of town for 3 weeks early on all that changed! I got so sick of fast food that I decided to learn to cook or else. Turns out I really really enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
Just about anything. I love baking, trying new recipes and new flavor combinations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My kids were getting pickier and pickier and I got tired of the sound of "Eww! What's this?" so we started what we call country night. Every other Saturday we have a 3 course meal from a different country. We've had Greece, India, Italy, France, UK and tons of others. It's definitely helped them be a little more adventurous. We also have movie night on Sunday where we have a meal and a dessert but most importantly the kids get to help! We rotate turns so it's just one at a time. They all enjoy it and really look forward to their turn.
My cooking triumphs
Being able to put a balanced meal on the table every night, especially with as little cooking knowledge as I started with.
My cooking tragedies
When I was little in one of my very few cooking tries I got teaspoon and tablespoon mixed up. 1 tablespoon of salt in a chocolate poundcake is not an improvement. Since then I'm very careful about my measurements!

Unbelievable Chicken
Loved these! Followed the recipe exactly and the results were very tasty. Juicy, with just a touch of mellow sweetness and a bite of flavor. I think this chicken would make a great chicken sandwich with swiss and honey mustard. Will definitely make again.

Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
We all liked these a lot and they're a nice change from regular grilled cheese. If you don't like the taste of garlic go easy on the garlic salt. We like garlic and really enjoyed the extra tang. Will definitely make again. I had to make a change with the cheese just because I didn't have Colby Jack. I used 2/3 c cheddar and 1/3 c montery jack.
