About this Cook
I am a happy wife and mother of 4 children. I am happy because I asked Jesus into my heart 11 years ago. He is the answer to everything!
My favorite things to cook
Lately I have been very intriqued with soups but my main love is baked goods and bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother used to make pumpkin bread in coffee cans every Thanksgiving. I make it also but I do not use a coffee can :-)
My cooking triumphs
I sold one of my pound cakes for $25.00. :-) I was so excited!
My cooking tragedies
I made a turkey soup when I first got married (10 years ago) that turned into a barley mush mass. My husband ate it for a week and a half because we had no money at the time. He's such a good steward! :-)

Perfect Sesame Chicken
Outstanding! I did not deep fry the chicken...I baked it. I also used red pepper flakes instead of chili paste. Served over white rice. I would make this again and again. My husband liked it too.

Rolled Buttercream Fondant
This is the first time I have worked with fondant. It worked fine but the thing I did not like was the taste. I would not cover a whole cake with it. I am not sure if all fondant tastes this way.....

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake
This gets four stars for ease. I followed the recipe to a T and I just felt it tasted 'store cake mix'y. I would make again in a pinch if I was pressed for time. It was not yucky....just.....normal.
