A sixteen year old who actually cooks.. yes that would be me.
I love making something delicious out of practically nothing, and there's just something comforting in measuring out cups of flour and rolling dough.
I guess cooking is therapeutic not only for adults, but for all ages too!
Weird isn't it? tell me about it!
My favorite things to cook
Know what else is odd? I seldom eat the food I make! Whatever I cook, I usually make it for others...
Nonetheless, I love making pies, especially apple pies and cheesecakes. And when I'm in the mood, I enjoy making dozens of cut out sugar cookies that I decorate elaborately with icing. Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family's Indonesian, so my mom cooks a lot of yummy indonesian food. Maybe I'll submit some of her age-old indonesian recipes up on this site soon.
My cooking triumphs
Last Valentine's Day, I had to make over 200 heartshaped chocolate lollypops and over 150 mini truffles.. ALL IN TWO DAYS! I handled soo much chocolate during those two days, that I couldnt stand the sight of any kind of chocolate for weeks after!
My cooking tragedies
When I was 11, I once tried to make lemon muffins, but I accidentally substitued the sugar with salt. At the time I really had no idea about baking, so I thought that it was perfectly normal to mix a whole cup of salt into the batter. All in all, you can probably guess how THAT came out.
