Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Well, it was easy, that's why it gets 1 star...I notice that most people who rated this high made a lot of additions to the recipe. I made it as written. When I got home, I lifted the lid and was greeted by an unappealing aroma. I am surprised this did not turn out at all, it seemed like a good idea.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Really good recipe, especially because it uses stuff I usually had on hand. I used canned italian tomatoes with basil, oregano & garlic already in it but still added fresh. It's so much better and almost as easy as the stuff in a jar :)

Double Peanut Butter Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
We thought this was great! I don't know what that other reviewer was talking about, my batter came out beautiful & creamy, not dry at all. Instead of frosting, I spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the cake when it was warm, then put it in the refrigerator to solidify. Then I melted some milk chocolate with a few Reese's peanut butter cups thrown in and spread that over the top of the peanut butter layer. It was really good!

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Really great! I made it yesterday and I may make it again tonight! Everyone loved this salad. I agree with another reviewer....I will never, ever buy bottled caesar dressing again! I didn't use anchovies(because I didn't have any) but it was still excellent. I also used plain old Kraft canned parmesan but next time will use a chunk of good parm. (I usually keep some in the freezer and just grate it in the magic bullet, but happened to be out of it) Thank you for this recipe!

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

This is outstanding! I didn't have any shallots so I substituted scallions. I went right to using chicken since I had several cans in the pantry. So good! Love the crunch and the flavor! Thanks, Bunnybunny! (Funny thing....we call one of our dogs Bunnybunny! Her name is actually Honey)

Hot Buffalo Chicken, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
YUM! Such a simple recipe and so delicious! I shredded the meat from a couple leftover grilled breasts and used sub rolls. I increased the hot sauce as well and spread the sauce on both sides of the roll. It did get a little crunchy in the oven, but I thought that was good. My husband dipped his in blue cheese dressing as I made it a little too spicy for him. This was a great sandwich and I will make it often. Thank you for the recipe!

Jalapeno Poppers I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
My husband asked for homemade poppers and at first I said, "are you crazy"? But I checked AllRecipes, and this one seemed do-able. Whaty I really like is that it mixes cheddar & cream cheese. I don't like plain cream cheese poppers, but the smoothness of the cream cheese really made the filling nice with the sharpness of the cheddar. I was a little worried about the heat of the jalapenos because I can never tell if they are going to be too spicy for people. These were just perfect. I did blanche them briefly as other reviewers suggested and that was good, except be sure not to breathe in the steam! I used bread crumbs because I didn't have any cornflakes. I bought 24 pretty good sized jalapenos and filled them all because the filling is a lot. Excellent recipe, I can't wait to make these again!

BLT Macaroni Salad

This was so good, I literally JUST made it for a picnic in an hour. I used plum tomatoes and put more in, maybe 4 or 5. We keep "testing" it, hope there's still some left for the picnic! What a great recipe! Thank you!

This was great! Definately toast the bread first. I put in some baby portabellas because I had them on hand and it was so good! I will make this again! Thank you for the excellent, quick & healthy recipe!

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Great! We never had tilapia before, but will definately have it again. It was a little delicate to handle, but the marinade made it so good! I may try another reviewer's suggestion to bake it next time. The dressing was great even though I didn't put in the adobo. I added some Franks extra hot sauce instead. Next time I will use the adobo since we like things very hot. The baby greens someone suggested instead of the cabbage sounds really good too. I can't wait to make these again, it's a great light meal!

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
This was really good, but SPRINKLE! It's pretty spicy, I had lots so I ROLLED it in the spice and it smoked up the kitchen so that we could hardly breathe! I was worried about how spicy it would be to eat because of that, but the flavor was great! Delicious, it will make me eat more healthy fish :) Thank you!

Spinach Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
I don't know if I did something wrong, but we thought this was gummy. We tried to like it because we love spinach and cheese, but just couldn't get a taste for it. It was bland even after I added some salt, pepper & garlic powder. The consistency was just weird. I also didn't understand why it should cool for 45 minutes, then it was lukewarm. Maybe if it was hot it would be better? I won't make this again.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
This dressing is so good! I never buy the bottled stuff anyway, it's too blah, but I didn't have a great recipe. I made this to go with a Paula Deen recipe for the "Hottest Chicken Wings". Well the wings were great, but this dressing made an even huger hit! We had some left over after the wings were gone and my husband was putting it on crackers with hot sauce, he loved it that much! Awesome recipe, and I'm so thankful it DOESN'T call for buttermilk, because I don't know anyone who has that on hand all the time (at least I don't!). Great stuff!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
Everyone loved this. We like ricotta, so I doubled that part, then my pan was too small & I couldn't do all the layers (I always have that problem, even with my regular recipe). But that was good, because then I had lots of sauce to serve on the side. The fennel adds alot to the sauce, it was delicious. I also had some fresh basil that I added to the sauce & the ricotta mixture. Also, I didn't have that much parmesan so I grated some fresh pecorino in the "Magic Bullet" for one parmesan layer and that added a nice bite. The slices of mozzarella are SO much better than the bagged shredded cheese it is worth the little bit of extra work. I didn't think this was any more time consuming than any other lasagna, but WAY better! I will make this sauce for other pasta dishes too! Thank you for the great recipe!

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
We were having an Italian dinner fundraiser at school & I was asked to pick up biscotti at the bakery (since no one knew how to make them). Then I remembered I had printed this recipe a while ago & figured I could use a little baking therapy :) If they came out bad, I could still go to the bakery. Not to worry...these were sooooo good! I didn't have any almond extact, so I left it out. I did add some ground up anise seeds becuase that is my favorite taste in the biscotti. I left half plain & half with chocolate. They were the first dessert to go at the dinner & everyone raved over them. I was so proud! I think the orange zest made them even better. Great recipe! We used to get a box of homemade biscotti every year at Christmas from a 93 year old client and since he passed away, I have been wishing I knew how to make them and now I do! Thank you!!!!
