Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Loved this recipe. I've been pining for years over not having a Panera in Utah, now I don't know if this tastes the same, but it tastes so good, that I no longer care about Panera. Anyhow, I halved the recipe, since we're a small family. But, I put the roux at 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp of each butter and flour. I also used 1 cup of heavy cream,(and I thought the thickness was fine) since I had it and wouldn't use it for anything else. Left out the salt and pepper and put in garlic salt instead... personal tastes there. I surprised that my husband loved it as much as he did. I didn't think he'd be a fan of broccoli cheese soup in general but he LOVED this! YEA! Does anyone know if this freezes well?

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
I didn't necessarily like these. The flavoring, I think was fine, but just the pumpkin seeds themselves, maybe... I've never had pumpkin seeds before. But they were a hit at my small group tonight and I was asked for the recipe.

Caramel Apple Bars III

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
DELICIOUS! Took them to my church small group tonight and they were a tremendous hit. I couldn't find the wrapped caramels in the store, but in the baking aisle found caramel bits (no need for unwrapping) used two 11 oz bags and added 1/4 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 to the melting caramels. So yummy!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I was going to a build-your-own pasta party. And I was in charge of the meatballs. I didn't have the ingredients for the sauce, so I just used some canned stuff and made the meatballs. I too put it in a crock pot for 5-6 hours on low. Everyone complimented me on how good the meatballs were!

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
My husband and I enjoyed this dish and it has now become part of our family cookbook. I followed the recipe to the "T" and it wasn't spicy, but I do not think it's bland either. (My hubby and I aren't crazy about spicy so that was good.) The only reason I didn't give it five stars, is because I consider 5 stars a recipe in which every person would LOVE. And while my family likes it, I'm not sure I can put it in that category.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2005
I definitely do not like fish, but Tilapia was recommended several times as it doesn't taste fishy, and it really doesn't. The recipe for the Tilapia is EXECELLENT!!! I wouldn't change a thing! If you're not a fish-eater, definitely try this recipe!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
This was a great recipe! My husband and I loved it. Next time I would cut the chicken into smaller bites to make it easier to eat, but other than that... it was perfect!

Chocolate Mint Cake Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
This is excellent. Althought, I did not know where to get the menthe liqueur so, I just got Peppermint flavoring and it worked just as well. Also, note that the cake needs to be in the refridgerator for at least 3 hours, so "ready in" time should be more like 4 1/2 hours.

Seemed to just taste like potatoes. Not what I was looking for or expecting. But Aaron loved it.
