I'm an island girl Mon. Actually I do not speak this way, but people get the idea right away. I was born in a Caribbean island and have been living in the US for many, many years now. I love to bake cookies and brownies. Apple pie is a family favorite, and so is chocolate cake. Interestingly enough, I do not eat as much of my creations as friends and family members do. A girl must watch her figure, you know. As a hispanic woman I can tell you that we learn to cook early. It is one of those very important abilities a girl must posses. After marrying a southern man I had to learn all over. I only knew hispanic foods, things like mac and cheese were beyond me. Thank goodness for cookbooks. CHICKEN! in all it's glorious, finger-licking-good forms. I dunno why but whenever I make chicken, it comes out super delicious. OK don't laugh: Cake mixes. I CANNOT make a decent cake from a prepared mix, it always falls apart, or half of it sticks to the pan. It's horrible. But it's OK, I found a great chocolate cake recipe.
