About this Cook
My kitchen is my favorite place in the house. Golf with my good friend Tom in Phoenix is the best. I gave up cigars, and chewing tobacco. I am trying real hard to be more healthy.
My favorite things to cook
My Baked Salmon is always great. I have a simple recipe from Jacque Pipin, Felit Mignon in Port Wine Glaze, that always turns out perfect. Sara and Travis love my "Coconut Shrimp Green Chile Enchiladas" wow! And, I would like to return to brewing beer - I gave it up a few years ago...
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have my special recipe for Lasagna every Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Came in 3rd place in the "Denver's best home cook contest, 2005."
My cooking tragedies
Cooked and carefully basted a beautiful turkey with my new bought turkey basting tool. Once done and the eating began, my taste buds told me I had left the plastic sack inside the belly of the bird and came out smelling and tasting like a baby diaper. I burped plastic for 3 days.

Berdean's Cube Steak
I thought the sauce a little plain - so what I did was in step 2 - I stirred one can of cream of mushroom soup with 2 TBSP milk and 1 TBSP of Roasted Raspberry Chipotle Sauce together - added that mixture to the bottom of my dutch oven, added 5 red potatoes - and layered the cube steaks on the top of the taters. Then baked for 2 hrs at 325. I used the 'sauce' as a gravy for the potatoes. Turned out pretty good.

Italian Sausage Soup
I followed this recipe to the letter and it was so good and easy. Just like any soup should be. The marriage of tastes between the spinach, hot italian sausage and the Great Northern Beans is what makes this soup so different and one that will be on my monthly cook list.

Easy Dump Cake
sorry - I followed directions and it came out sticky, gooey, top pulled off inside the pan - back to the drawing board.
