Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Bravo! This is a real keeper. I followed the recipe to a T except for using all chicken broth instead of water . I also thickend the jus with corn starch mixed in water for about 10 minutes after removing the pork! It was GREAT! After tasting the gravy, I added no salt to the mashed potatoes I served with it. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Ham, Potato and Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I followed the recipe pretty closely except for substitutions of ingredients I did not have on hand and it was WONDERFUL! I par boiled 2 sliced potatoes, added a chopped onion on top of that layer, added petite frozen peas as I had no broccoli on hand, 1 cup each sharp cheddar and parmesan cheese and added 1 Tbsp mustard powder to the soup mix! Very good - the hubby loved it and had seconds! It makes a bunch so shared with the neighbors and they asked for the recipe!

I was very surprised at how good this was with so few ingredients! Quite tasty! I followed the recipe except had to use dill instead of sweet as that is what I had! What a great way to enjoy tuna salad quickly!

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

Very easy, quick and pretty tasty. My husband loved it! Like others, the patties did not stay together well but I thought it added to the charm. Nothing wrong with all those bit of burger in the delicious red gravy! I served with mashed potatoes to which I added sour cream and chives! Really good for such a simple and quick dish!

Tomato Soup I

Oh My! This is delicious. I added the cream cheese, red pepper and basil from my other favorite recipe on this site (spicy tomato soup with grilled brie toast) -- otherwise, followed the directions exactly! What a treat served with cheese toast is just marvelous!

Spicy Tomato Bisque with Grilled Brie Toast

Very good! Used heavy cream rather than the milk and white bread as I did not have rye. It was Excellent! For those who had trouble whisking in the cream cheese, just soften in the micro wave a bit and it belnds in beautifully. Thanks for a great recipe!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
Good recipe. Using the advice of others, I cooked the frozen breasts in chicken broth in the crock pot on high for about 3 hours. They shredded nicely - then drained the broth, added the BBQ sauce mixture and cooked on low for 2 hours. Very good -- use a BBQ sauce you like!!! I served on toasted buns, topped with parmesan cheese and served cole slaw on the side! Will make again using Rudy's Sause! A keeper!

French Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
WOW! This was wonderful! I pretty much followed the recipe exactly except: used only 1 can of the Italian tomatoes because I only had one. I put in an equal amount of White Zinfandel wine - used it to deglaze the pan after browning as someone else suggested. I added 2 TBSP of Worchestershire sauce because we like it. I did let the meat simmer for about an hour before adding the potatoes and carrots to ensure the meat was tender! It was DELICIOUS! This will definitely be a keeper and one that I prepare often. Plus, it is easy to prepare and takes little time except for the cooking! Thanks for a great recipe!

Zippy Shepherd's Pie

This was really great! I pretty much followed the recipe exactly but used the Country Crock already prepared mashed potatoes. I added butter and sour cream to them before topping the meat filling. Topped with white Cheddar! Delcious -- a keeper. The curry really does add a nice touch and "zips" it up a little -- subtle but very nice! Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
I made this dish at the request of a friend who remembered having it in Ohio when he was young! Followed the recipe exactly except added the apple suggested by others -- did use a dark beer! Per my friend, I served with mashed potatoes. It was very good -- is now on my schedule of meals I cook regularly. It was my husband and my first taste of this Dutch delight but my friend said it was the best he had ever eaten. Thanks for a great recipe!
